“Crying Paper Tears” is a commentary piece about the price our young people are paying due to social media. It has become an addiction. They care too much about what others think, especially young girls. It is so hard on their self-image, and yet they cannot stay away from checking to see if they got “likes” or hearts, and who they are from. Although their family and friends tell them how beautiful they are, they are addicted to seeing their lives through the lens of social media. Our world is so beautiful, and so are our children. Can we stop it? Should we allow this constant reminder, that they can hold in their hand, to injure our most vulnerable youth?
